death and scandal!
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Former Chelsea guru slain in a barber shop!
January 23, 1920 – In the early evening of January 23, 1920, Thomas Alexander Richard, a well-known entertainment mogul and his latest philanthropic donation to the Museum of Man, was found brutally murdered at a barber shop on 5th Avenue. Mr. Giorgio Reuben, owner of the barber shop was found six blocks away, soaked in blood and shaken from the tragic events.
Mr. Richard was perhaps well known for being the Don of the Chelsea Faction, and with his death being as sudden as it was, no one was ready to assume the role of leadership. Strangely enough, however, eye witnesses could’ve sworn that it was not another group of gang-like members who entered the barber shop that night… they could’ve sworn it was the Coppers. While any reports of police brutality were typically swept under the rug, this sighting remains consistent with the amount of reported instances when a law enforcement officer overrode his job duties.
With the northern part of Chelsea currently infested with coppers, members of the Chelsea faction are seeking leadership. They are looking for someone to protect their asses from the boorish behavior of corrupt officials. There are only a few “safe haven” places in Chelsea at the moment – one being “The Box” Art Gallery and another being an underground speakeasy where people go to hide.
Site-Wide Plot – Anyone from any faction can be involved. Let’s look at this situation strategically:
- Rival factions – Is this not a prime opportunity to take advantage of a faction that is currently in shambles? There’s no heir in sight (not a decent one anyway) due to continuous internal battles.
- Chelsea faction members – Are you up to the challenge to become a savior? Or perhaps, are you taking the side of an up and coming leader? Are you planning to jump ships because the Chelsea faction’s royal family is crumbling before your very eyes?
- Neutral parties – With the invasion of Coppers in the northern Chelsea neighborhood, is your character just going to sit by and watch? Are they a victim of police brutality? Or are they going to fight against the corruption?
- Students – Do any of them live in Chelsea? Are they familiar with the area? Or perhaps… are they going to witness something so brutal that could change the course of their lives forever?
The choice of events is yours.
